Welcome to a day in the life of Marijn, our Product Manager. As the Product Manager, Marijn is responsible for a multitude of tasks around our Music Distribution. We asked him some questions to give you a better insight into what goes on in his work life at SCANTRAXX. 

How did you end up at SCANTRAXX?
I started as an intern back in February 2022. I did the internship in Music & Marketing Management and Robbert (our label manager) was my internship coordinator. After getting to know the team and daily tasks, I had to do several internship assignments. One of them was the 10 Years of Adrenalize party which really helped me to grow the bond between my colleagues and me! It was a successful event and after succeeding my internship, I got the chance to do my graduation assignment! 

This assignment had everything to do with of course SCANTRAXX and I was researching the developments within the hardstyle scene over the past years. Very interesting if you ask me! Now, exactly 2 years later after my first internship, I continued my SCANTRAXX journey as Product Manager! I’m partly responsible for the distribution services of SCANTRAXX. I will be talking with different artists from our (sub)labels to organize their releases from A to Z! 

What does a typical workday look like to you?
A typical workday starts around 6:00 when I hit the gym before going to the office. This really helps me throughout the day as I have a lot of energy in the morning! After getting the first coffee at the office I will reply to my e-mails, a lot of work gets handed out in these e-mails. Think about strategizing with artists, sending out different assets that are requested, distributing tracks to the streaming platforms, and keeping track of the release planning. On some working days, I will be making the mixes that SCANTRAXX provides, such as Hardstyle Hits, Back To The Rootz, or Spectrum of Hardstyle. Everything combined together makes the day quite busy, but I like that, a higher workload keeps me focused.
