Get to know Alphastrike!

Alphastrike, better known as Sander Noordhuis, released his second tune on Prospexx this week called ‘The Darkside’. A track that represents a darker period in his life. He is now currently in a way better shape because this track is an absolute banger if you ask us! We wanted to get to know Sander a little bit better by doing this interview!

Sander currently lives in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Back in 2015 he visited Mysteryland and went to the Q-dance stage. “I immediately fell in love after watching the end show. I believe it was “Fallen Horizon” of Demi Kanon and Audiotricz that stuck with me from that day on.” Sander says.

We also asked him what he likes the most about Hardstyle. “The thing I like about hardstyle the most is the energy and atmosphere at the parties. I’ve never experienced or seen a crowd go crazy at any other party in any other scene. Besides that, I made so many good memories and close friends in this scene that I can’t imagine ever leaving hardstyle behind.”

Back when Sander was around the age of 11, he got in touch with music production for the first time. Yet it is quite the opposite direction of Hardstyle because he sang in a choir. He wanted to develop further in creating music and started playing guitar. Not long after that, he started to produce music. He found a great teacher that produces melodic techno tracks. Although it’s a completely different side, he learned a lot from him. “I find this is the most beautiful thing about music. It doesn’t matter which genre you make; along the way, you’ll always make new friends and are able to learn from each other. We all share the same passion in the end.” Sander says.

Taking it back to ‘The Darkside’. The track got released this Tuesday and you can hear that his learning process got him in the right direction! “I have a different way of approaching melodies, especially in my latest track I really tried to experiment with the chord progression to keep things interesting. I also try to use my own vocals in every track if it fits.”

As we said before, ‘The Darkside’ represents a darker period in his life. “It really goes back to a point in my life that I mentally wasn’t doing so well. I was fortunate enough to meet my lovely girlfriend who helped me through some tough times, hence the lyrics.” Sander says.

We are glad to see him in a way better shape now! Talking about milestones it’s safe to say he has already gained quite some privileges! One of his highlights is that JNXD played his track at the Qontinent in 2019. He got invited on stage and he said that “playing your own track in front of so many people was really astonishing!” One year later he had the honor to create the official anthem for First Kicks in 2020, which gave him obviously such a blast!

What can we expect from Alphastrike in the future? “My biggest hope for the future is to reach and hopefully touch more people with my music. Also I’m working on some collaborations, so I intend to put out a lot more music in the foreseeing future.”
